about me…
I’m an artist based in New Plymouth, Taranaki, making playful, one-of-a-kind pieces from my home studio. I studied Visual Communication and Illustration at Massey University and spent nearly 20 years in the Wellington film industry before returning home in 2019 to focus on my own creative practice and to explore clay more seriously.
My work draws inspiration from everyday moments, faces, flowers, children’s book illustration, and pop culture. I hand-build each piece individually, letting the clay guide the process so characters and expressions emerge intuitively. Some pieces start with a clear intention; others evolve naturally through making.
With a painterly approach to surface decoration, I make whimsical ceramic characters for both wall-hanging and freestanding display. I’m attracted to colour, personality, and imperfect charm, and I hope each piece invites delight, connection, and a little sense of wonder.
